Simple Assault Case Dismissed at Preliminary Hearing

The client had been facing a Misdemeanor of the 2nd Degree Simple Assault charge in connection with an alleged incident in Amity Township, Pennsylvania. A conviction on a M2 charge in Pennsylvania carries a maximum penalty of 2 years incarceration.

Misdemeanor Charges Dropped at Preliminary Hearing

Attorney Dan Nevins negotiated a favorable deal for a client today in Berks County preliminary hearing. Client had been charged with several misdemeanor counts including agricultural vandalism, criminal mischief and trespassing as well as underage drinking and various traffic offenses and faced the distinct possibility of a criminal record, probation and a license suspension.

Fortunately, Attorney Nevins was able to negotiate a disposition which saw the alleged victim receive full and timely monetary restitution and allowed Client to maintain a clear criminal record by pleading guilty to only a summary offense and resulted in no license suspension.

ENM Law Attorneys Attend Berks County Law Day Celebration

The attorneys of Ebner, Nevins & McAllister recently attended Berks County’s annual “Law Day” celebration. The program celebrates the rule of law in the United States and this year specifically addressed the Right to Vote. During the program several local youths were honored for essays they wrote regarding the importance of voting rights. Numerous Judges and County Officials were in attendance for this important event.

Our attorneys feel that community involvement plays an important part in the role of an Attorney. Our attorneys volunteer time in a wide variety of Berks County organizations including the Daniel Boone Homestead, the Reading/ Berks YMCA, the Children’s Home of Reading, and Liberty Youth Baseball, just to name a few.
